The DDS02.1-W015-DS04-00 is a digital AC servo drive controller built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and placed within the DDS Drive Controllers series. It regulates current and velocity loops for matched servo motors, executing motion commands supplied by a higher-level PLC or motion controller. In industrial automation cells, the unit serves as the power and communication bridge between control logic and the mechanical axis, converting command data into three-phase motor output while monitoring feedback for closed-loop positioning and stable speed control.

Its communication backbone is the SERCOS interface, an optical ring protocol that transmits cyclic setpoints and diagnostic data with very low timing variation. Internal heat is removed by internal air cooling, so the drive relies on cabinet airflow rather than external fans mounted on the housing. During continuous motion, the power section can supply 15 A of output current, which is the maximum RMS phase current available to the servo motor. When machines are transported or stored, the electronics tolerate a storage range of -30 – 85 °C, which helps protect the unit during winter shipment and high-temperature staging. The drive is Version 1, and line code 02 places it within an early DDS platform design used with the connector layout and operating structure associated with that product line.
