The DDS series of drive controllers have a modular construction. This type of construction enables multiple AC servo and main drives to be connected as one compact drive package using one single power supply unit. The DDS02.1-W050-R is part of the DDS series. This controller is a 2nd series 1st version controller with internal cooling. The internal cooling enables the drive to run at its full capacity without overheating. The DDS02.1-W050-R has a current rating of 50 A and has a resolver feedback system. This drive controller can operate in temperatures up to 45°C with rated data and up to 55°C with de-rated data. It can be operated at temperatures beyond this range but then the ‘load factors’ needs to be considered.
The DDS02.1-W050-R can be stored and transported in temperatures between -30°C to 85°C. The maximum allowable installation elevation for the DDS02.1-W050-R with rated data is 1000 m. This drive controller has an IP 20 protection as per EN 60529. This means that the unit is not protected against water and dust penetration. The DDS02.1-W050-R has excellent thermal dissipation as most of the heat energy lost by the unit is directly conducted outside preventing heat accumulation inside the unit. When mounting the DDS02.1-W050-R using a mounting panel, it must be ensured that the heatsink side of the unit is out of the cabinet or is not blocked by other components.
