The Bosch DDS02.1-W100-DL02-01-FW is a digital drive controller. It is designed with a modular architecture for both the hardware and software components. The hardware is comprised of a basic unit with slots for optional modules. The drive software or firmware can be ordered with different feature sets to satisfy different customer requirements. For this reason the firmware has to be ordered separately. The DDS02.1-W100-DL02-01-FW is part of the DDS series and is rated for 100 Amps output. Integrated features on the drive include digital servo feedback. The command communication module installed on the drive is single-axis positioning control. DDS drives can also be ordered with SERCOS and analog command communication modules. The DDS series of drives is designed for use with different families of linear and synchronous motors.
Compatible synchronous motor families include MDD and MKD. Compatible linear motor families include LAR and LAF. Typical applications for DDS drives include machine tool, printing/packaging machinery, robotics and textiles. The power to the connected motor is supplied by the drive. Another cable connects the motor to the drive which is the motor feedback cable. Through this cable the motor is able to send feedback about operating parameters to the drive. This feedback is used by the DDS02.1-W100-DL02-01-FW to ensure that motor operating parameters are in line with settings that are configured by the operator. The DDS02.1-W100-DL02-01-FW can be operated from a regulated supply that delivers 24 Volts DC. Use of unregulated DC supplies for providing power to the drive is not permitted.
