Bosch Rexroth’s motion control units are designed to enhance factory automation for different applications. The company’s DDS drive controllers are flexible units constructed with a modular design to suit this. Drives with these drive controllers are commonly used in machine tools, textile machines, printing and packaging machinery, robotics, and handling machines.
The DDS03.1-W030-DS29-02 is one of the drive controllers in the Bosch Rexroth DDS drive system. It cools using heat technology, a cooling system where the unit dissipates heat within its control cabinet. It requires minimal installation efforts, but the control cabinet used must be large enough and with air conditioning. This drive controller is compatible with all supply units with a regulated DC voltage of 24V. The supply unit can also be mounted in the control cabinet, which has an IP 10 protection rating according to DIN 40 050. It does not permit the entry of solid objects greater than 50mm but is not protected against sprays from water jets.
Digital AC servo motors that are compatible with the DDS03.1-W030-DS29-02 use digital servo feedback for position detection. The drive controller’s plug-in module is a SERCOS module that allows its connection to digital drives with SERCOS-compatible controls. It also offers inputs for evaluating reference switches, travel range limit switches, and sensor inputs. The connection of the SERCOS module to the digital drives is via a fiber optic cable, ensuring the rapid transfer of signals. A DC bus voltage of 300V with a tolerance of ±15% is needed to operate this drive controller, and its rated current is 30A. The maximum ambient temperature for its operation is 45oC, with a maximum relative air humidity of 95%.
