The DDS drive controllers are one of the solutions from Bosch Rexroth. They have a wide range of applications, including machine tools, textile machines, printing and packaging machines, robotics, and handling machines. These drive controllers are flexibly combined with AC motors from Bosch Rexroth like those in the MDD, MKD, LAR, and MBW series to create rapid-response drives. Each configured DDS drive controller consists of a basic unit, plug-in module, software module, and firmware (software and plug-in modules). All four components are in a compact package, and the device uses a single power supply unit.
The feedback of the AC motor that can be combined with the DDS02.2-W050-BE85-01-FW is either digital servo feedback or resolver feedback. The motor’s feedback detects its position and reads and stores data. This drive controller’s plug-in module is a SERCOS module, and it facilitates communication between the drive controller and other connected control units. The SERCOS interface carries out its functions via fiber optic cables that can be purchased separately from Rexroth Indramat. Heat technology dissipates heat generated within the drive controller and requires a large control cabinet with air conditioning.
The DDS02.2-W050-BE85-01-FW is designed to be mounted in a control cabinet or closed housing and meet the demands of protection category IP 10. The protection category means that it is protected against penetration by solid extrinsic objects with a diameter exceeding 50mm. It is, however, not protected against penetration by water and intentional accessing by a hand. It weighs approximately 7.5 kg and is connected to the AC motor in use via the motor power cable, which has shielded connections for temperature monitoring and the holding brake.
