Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DDS02.1-W150-DS03-01 drive controller for the DDS Drive Controllers series. The unit converts DC bus energy from a supply module into controlled AC output for servo axes, allowing precise speed and torque regulation in packaging lines, printing presses, and general automation. By coordinating with a central motion processor, it closes the drive-level control loop and applies parameter sets that match the connected motor. This arrangement lets the controller support accurate axis movement while remaining suitable for multi-axis cabinet installations.

The controller communicates over the SERCOS interface, a fiber-optic ring that carries cyclic position data and diagnostic messages with consistent timing. Internal power devices are cooled by internal air cooling, so airflow from inside the control cabinet removes heat without the need for an external fan kit. Continuous output capability reaches 150 A, which is the maximum continuous current the downstream motor windings may draw during steady operation. The housing meets IP20, which helps prevent accidental contact with live parts but still requires installation in an enclosed panel. Position information from the motor is processed through digital servo feedback, allowing closed-loop speed and position control with compatible feedback devices.

The permissible ambient operating range is 0 to 45 °C, and installation is allowed at elevations up to 1000 m without additional cooling changes. When the machine is out of service, the drive can be stored at temperatures from -30 to +85 °C if condensation is avoided. These limits help protect electronic components, insulation materials, and capacitor service life during operation and storage. The unit carries Function ID Version 01 and works with Line 02 hardware in multi-axis DDS racks.
