The DDS02.2-W015-BE41-01-FW is a digital AC servo drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. Housed as a plug-in module for Indramat supply racks, it converts low-level commands from central motion processors into regulated three-phase output for coordinated axis control. By matching motor electrical characteristics to commanded profiles, the drive supports precise positioning and velocity regulation in packaging equipment, printing presses, and metal-cutting machines. Its rack-mounted format also suits modular machine layouts where several axes share a common power infrastructure and coordinated control architecture.
The drive supplies a continuous output of 15 A, which is the maximum motor phase current it can deliver without thermal derating. Its enclosure has an IP20 rating, so it must be installed in a protected electrical cabinet. Command and diagnostic data are exchanged over a SERCOS interface, providing deterministic cycle times for synchronized multi-axis systems. That communication method helps the controller stay aligned with other axes during interpolation, indexing, and speed changes. The unit uses air drawn from inside the control cabinet for cooling, so enclosure airflow remains important for heat dissipation. Normal operation is specified for ambient temperatures from 0 to 45 °C, a range suited to most indoor production areas.
When power is removed, the unit tolerates storage temperatures from -30 to 85 °C, allowing shipment or warehouse storage without active climate control. Encoder channels accept digital servo feedback and resolver feedback, which supports compatibility with a broad range of Rexroth and third-party motors. Both feedback types allow the controller to operate with motor systems that use either digital position data or analog sine-cosine signals. The maximum mounting altitude is 1000 m; installations above this height require derating or additional cooling because thinner air reduces cooling effectiveness. The unit is supplied with no factory-loaded firmware, so the required software is ordered separately.
