Product Description:
The DDS02.1-W100-DS24-03-FW digital AC servo drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the DDS Drive Controllers series. Designed to manage synchronous and asynchronous servo motors in multi-axis machines, it converts command data from higher-level motion systems into precise current and voltage profiles for connected drives. Within an automation cabinet, this unit forms the link between the power supply, the motion controller, and the motor. That role helps coordinated axes maintain controlled torque and speed during assembly, material-handling, and packaging tasks.
Communication with the machine controller is handled through a SERCOS interface, allowing cycle-synchronous exchange of drive and diagnostic data over fiber optics. The controller uses Line 02 architecture and delivers a continuous output of 100 A, so the drive section can energize medium-power servo motors without external amplifiers. An enclosure rating of IP20 limits installation to protected electrical cabinets, and operation is specified for ambient temperatures between 0–45 °C. Under those conditions, cabinet airflow must remove semiconductor heat so the heat sink and bus bars can operate within their intended thermal range. This arrangement supports closed-loop motion control where stable signal timing and consistent power delivery are required across multiple axes.
Drive position accuracy relies on digital servo feedback, which sends rotor data to the controller and closes the velocity loop internally. Cooling uses air from inside the control cabinet, so the drive depends on cabinet air circulation rather than a separate external source. Because of that cooling method, the enclosure should provide clean internal airflow across the heat sink surfaces. The unit maintains its output capacity up to an installation height of 1000 m and can be stored at temperatures from -30 to +85 °C when unpowered. The unit is Version 1.
