The DDS02.2-W015-BE23-00 is a digital AC servo drive controller developed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. It slides into a modular supply rack and receives DC bus power from an external supply module. The controller synthesizes sinusoidal output voltages that follow command data from higher-level motion CPUs, providing precise torque and velocity regulation for synchronous or induction servo motors. Because the power stage and control electronics are combined in one module, the unit supports compact multi-axis cabinet layouts. It is used in automated machining centers, printing presses, and robotic transfer stations where consistent axis response is required.

A continuous output of 15 A lets the drive energize medium-frame motors without thermal derating. Heat from the switching devices is removed by internal cabinet air cooling, so cabinet airflow must be maintained during operation. The housing is rated IP20, which means the unit must remain inside an enclosure that limits accidental contact and keeps out conductive dust. Command and diagnostic data travel over the SERCOS interface, and the fiber-optic link helps reduce sensitivity to electrical noise from nearby power equipment. Safe operation is permitted at ambient temperatures from 0 to 45 °C.

The controller accepts digital servo feedback and resolver feedback, allowing it to work with high-resolution encoders as well as rugged resolver systems. This flexibility lets the same drive support applications that prioritize either fine position feedback or durable sensing in demanding motion environments. Reliable operation is specified at installation altitudes up to 1000 m, while storage or shipment is permitted between -30 to 85 °C without damage to the electronics. Above that altitude, reduced cooling performance can require derating. The drive belongs to line 02 and is classified as Version 2 in the series.
