The DDS02.1-A200-DS50-00-FW drive controller is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the DDS Drive Controllers series. As a digital AC servo drive controller, it regulates three-phase servo motors in automated machinery and issues precise speed and torque commands to coordinate axis movement with the higher-level PLC. It forms the power and control stage between the motion controller and the motor, converting incoming electrical power into regulated motor output while exchanging real-time status data to support accurate positioning in assembly lines, packaging units, and material-handling systems.

To meet high dynamic demands, the unit supplies a continuous output of 200 A, allowing it to drive large synchronous motors under demanding motion profiles. Command and diagnostic data travel over the SERCOS interface, a real-time fiber-optic bus that reduces communication delay between the drive and the machine controller. The housing is rated IP20, so the unit is intended for installation inside a closed electrical cabinet. Heat is removed by air drawn from outside the control cabinet, which supports thermal management without relying on an internal blower. Position and velocity feedback are processed through digital servo feedback, allowing closed-loop control with high-resolution encoder signals.

Normal operation is permitted at ambient temperatures from 0 – 45 °C, and the drive must be derated or switched off outside that range. For storage and transport, it tolerates temperatures from -30 – 85 °C, which helps protect the power electronics when the unit is not in service. The electronics remain fully functional at installation heights up to 1000 m, matching typical factory elevations without additional cooling measures.
