Product Description:
The DDS02.1-W150-DS50-00-FW is a digital AC servo drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. Mounted inside multi-axis automation cabinets, it regulates torque, speed, and position of connected servo motors through closed-loop control so machine axes can follow commanded motion accurately. This arrangement lets one control platform distribute DC-bus power to several axes while each controller manages its own motor currents locally. Because the drive works from a common DC source, multiple axes can be packaged in a compact cabinet without requiring a separate power converter for each motor. Serving as the power stage between a motion processor and motor windings, it converts the shared DC bus into the three-phase output needed for precise material handling, packaging, and machining applications.
The controller exchanges setpoint and diagnostic data over the SERCOS interface, a deterministic fiber-optic network used for real-time coordination between axes. The communication cycle supports fast command updates and status reporting, which helps synchronized motion remain stable during acceleration, deceleration, and speed changes. A continuous output capacity of 150 A allows the unit to operate medium-to-large servo motors without current derating in normal continuous duty. Heat is removed by internal air cooling, so cabinet airflow must pass through the integrated heat sink, and rotor position is returned through digital servo feedback for stable velocity regulation and accurate position capture in every control cycle. This helps the controller correct load disturbances quickly and maintain repeatable response when axis demand changes from one motion segment to the next.
The drive belongs to Line 02 and is built as Version 1. Required application functions are provided as a separate firmware subitem, so the control software is ordered independently from the hardware. The software package determines the available operating functions and communication behavior for the installed application. Its module format matches the bus-bar and connector arrangement used across the platform, allowing it to share a common supply and communication backbone with neighboring axes.
