The DDS02.1-W050-DS09-00 is a digital AC servo drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the DDS Drive Controllers series. This module accepts drive commands from a motion controller and modulates three-phase power so that servo axes follow programmed speed and position profiles on automated machinery. By integrating power electronics, communication circuitry, and protective functions in a single housing, the unit streamlines panel wiring and supports coordinated movement on packaging lines, machine tools, and material-handling equipment. It is intended for cabinet-mounted multi-axis systems where stable closed-loop control and repeatable axis response are required during continuous production.
In the power section, the controller can supply up to 50 A of continuous phase current to its paired motor. Command data and diagnostics are exchanged over the fiber-optic SERCOS interface, which provides deterministic cycle times for multi-axis synchronization. Heat produced by the IGBTs is removed through internal air cooling that draws cabinet air across the heat sink, eliminating the need for an external blower. Mechanical and electrical performance remain consistent up to 1000 m of installation altitude, so most factory floors do not require additional derating. When the system is powered down, the electronics can be stored between -30 and 85 °C without damage to components. Position and velocity loops close through digital servo feedback, which streams high-resolution encoder data to the controller for tight gain execution during pick-and-place, printing, and grinding tasks. This feedback path helps the drive respond quickly to changes in commanded speed or load during dynamic operation.
