The DDS03.1-W030-RS01-01 is a digital AC servo drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. It is installed inside control cabinets to energize and regulate servomotors that position tooling, conveyors, or pick-and-place actuators in automated production cells. By processing real-time motion commands from a central controller and returning feedback data over the network, the unit serves as the core power stage in many Indramat modular drive systems. In multi-axis installations, it supports coordinated torque, speed, and position control while fitting the modular cabinet layout used by the series.

The controller communicates with upstream motion processors through the SERCOS interface, allowing cyclic, high-bandwidth exchanges of setpoints and diagnostic words over fiber optics. This communication path allows the main motion controller to update command values and receive status information during operation. Its power section can deliver a continuous output of 30 A, allowing medium-frame motors to accelerate quickly while staying within thermal limits. Electrical safety inside the cabinet is supported by the housing's IP20 rating, which helps prevent finger access and limits debris ingress. Heat that builds up during current switching is removed by internal air cooling, so the cabinet's own airflow is sufficient without external fans on the drive. Installation is permissible up to 1000 m above sea level, which matches common plant elevations. When powered down, the electronics tolerate storage temperatures from -30 – 85 °C. The unit carries Function ID 01 and is released in Version 1 as part of Line 03. Resolver feedback from the attached motor is processed by the integrated converter, allowing rotor position detection without the need for an optical encoder. The drive converts those resolver signals for closed-loop control of the connected servomotor during positioning and speed regulation. The cooling method applies only when the unit remains inside a sealed cabinet, because external mounting would disrupt the intended airflow path.
