Bosch Rexroth is the designer and manufacturer of the ultra-efficient DDS drive system. The drive controllers in this system have a modular design that enhances their flexibility so that they can be configured to users’ requirements. With a drive controller in the DDS system, a rapid-response drive can be created when it is combined with the MDD and MKD synchronous motors and the LAR and LAF linear induction motors. These drives are used in machine tools, textile creation, handling machines, robotics, and printing and packaging machinery.
The DDS02.1-W150-DL43-01-FW is a drive controller designed by Bosch Rexroth in the DDS series. It is a Version 1 type of these DDS drive controllers with a current rating of 150A. Its cooling method is heat technology, a mechanism of heat dissipation where the cooling airflow for the drive controller is within the control cabinet housing it. Hence, air conditioning and a large control cabinet have to be used. The control cabinet has an IP 10 rating and will prevent its penetration by solid external objects with a diameter of 50mm or more.
The plugin module of the DDS02.1-W150-DL43-01-FW is a single-axis positioning plugin module. This module allows a stand-alone single-axis positioning unit to be created by the expansion of the drive controller. Up to 3,000 program blocks can be used for the programming of the control, and each block describes a motion sequence or the states of inputs to be monitored and outputs to be set. The permissible ambient temperature range for the operation of this drive controller with its rated data is between 0oC and 45oC. It has an IP 20 Ingress Protection rating per EN 60529.
