The DDS02.1-W200-DS04-02 is a digital AC servo drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DDS Drive Controllers series. It coordinates torque, speed, and position loops for synchronous or induction motors installed in modular automation racks. Acting as the closed-loop link between a motion processor and the connected power stage, the unit enables rapid motor response in packaging, printing, and general material-handling lines. In modular racks, it works with surrounding drive electronics to keep motion commands stable as load conditions change. This supports precise acceleration, controlled deceleration, and steady running during repetitive machine cycles.
Real-time setpoints are exchanged over a SERCOS interface, allowing deterministic fiber-optic networking with multiple drives on the same ring. Fiber-optic communication also helps reduce sensitivity to electrical noise inside dense control cabinets. The controller supplies up to 200 A of continuous output current, which supports high torque demand from compatible motors during sustained operation. Thermal loads are removed through internal air cooling, so cabinet air must circulate across the heat sink instead of relying on external ducting. For position verification, the drive uses digital servo feedback, which sends position and diagnostic data in serial form for closed-loop control. This model is in line 02, indicating the second generation of the DDS platform.
The enclosure carries an IP20 rating, so the drive requires installation inside a closed panel where dust and dripping fluids cannot reach live parts. This protection level is intended for cabinet mounting rather than exposed installation on the machine frame. Operating temperatures range from 0 to 45 °C, while storage temperatures range from -30 to 85 °C. The stated storage range applies when the unit is not energized.
