The Bosch DDS03.1-W030-DL01-00 is the basic unit for a DDS digital controller. It controls motor speed and other parameters. The DDS series works with Bosch industrial motors from the LAR, LAR, MDD and MKD motor product lines. A single DC power supply with regulated output can supply power for multiple DDS controller. The major requirement related to the DC supply is that it delivers regulated output. Applications for DDS controllers include packaging machinery, handling machines, robotics and textiles. A complete DDS digital controller has three main components: the basic unit, plug in modules and firmware. Each DDS controller has two mandatory modules: a software module and a command communication module. The software module houses the firmware and operating parameters. The command communication module on the DDS03.1-W030-DL01-00 support single-axis positioning control.
The DDS03.1-W030-DL01-00 controller support integrated digital servo feedback. It cools via natural convection. DDS controller support two cooling designs: heat technology and cold technology. Controllers designed for heat technology dissipate heat inside the cabinet, and therefore large cabinets are required for controller mounting. Controllers designed for cold technology dissipate heat outside the cabinet, and therefore smaller cabinets can be used for for controller mounting. The DDS03.1-W030-DL01-00 is designed for heat technology. Rated controller output under recommended ambient conditions is 30 Amps. Operators must follow safety instructions listed in the product documentation. Proper storage, transport and installation are prerequisites for optimal controller operation. Only qualified and trained personnel should work on the DDS03.1-W030-DL01-00 and perform system maintenance. Operators should only use spare parts approved by Bosch. Prior to maintenance, the DC voltages on the controller components should be discharged. Failure to follow this precaution can lead to electric shock.
