Product Description:
The DDS03.1-W050-DL40-01-FW is a digital AC servo drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. It is part of Line 03 and Version 1 of the product range. In multi-axis automation, it provides closed-loop torque and speed regulation for induction or synchronous motors and serves as the central amplifier for industrial positioning and process equipment. Its power section converts DC-bus energy into controlled motor current so commanded moves can be carried out with stable response. This supports repeatable motion in handling systems, production machines, and other equipment that depends on accurate axis control.
This controller delivers a continuous output of 50 A, allowing it to energize medium-frame servo motors without exceeding thermal limits. Heat is removed by air drawn from inside the control cabinet, so internal cabinet airflow must be maintained during operation. The electronics are housed in an IP20 enclosure that protects against solid objects larger than 12 mm, but it does not provide protection against liquid ingress. Because of that enclosure class, the unit is intended for installation inside a protected cabinet rather than on an exposed machine surface. Command signals enter through a single-axis position control interface, allowing direct interpolation from a higher-level motion controller. Rotor position is returned through digital servo feedback, enabling high-bandwidth current loops and helping reduce velocity overshoot during changing load conditions.
Installation altitude is limited to 1000 m above sea level to avoid output derating at lower air density. The unit operates in ambient temperatures of 0 – 45 °C while energized, and non-energized storage or transport can occur between -30 – 85 °C. These limits cover normal operation as well as storage without exposing the controller to conditions outside its stated range. The unit uses Function ID version 01, which keeps parameter handling and diagnostic behavior consistent for this drive type. Observing these operating conditions helps the controller maintain expected thermal performance and stable electrical operation.
