The DDS02.1-W050-DL08-01-FW is a drive controller built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the DDS Drive Controllers series. It regulates torque, speed, and position on one servo axis within automated machines and production cells. Installed inside a control cabinet, the unit interfaces with higher-level motion modules to translate command signals into precise motor currents and support coordinated axis movement across the machine.
Communication with the higher-level motion system uses the Single-axis position control interface, so each controller is dedicated to one motor without requiring axis grouping. The power stage supplies a continuous 50 A of output current, enabling fast acceleration on servo motors while staying within the thermal limits of its heat sink. Feedback from the motor arrives through Digital servo feedback, allowing the drive to close its control loop with encoder resolution and electronic nameplate recognition. The housing has an IP20 rating, which means live parts are behind finger-safe openings, but the unit is not sealed against dust. Heat generated by the power electronics is removed through internal air cooling, in which cabinet air moves across the module's fins instead of relying on an external blower.
The ambient operating range is 0 to 45 °C, so derating is not required within most indoor equipment rooms. When the unit is stored, components can withstand a temperature range of -30 to 85 °C without damage to normal electronic function. Installation is permitted up to 1000 m above sea level; beyond this height, reduced air density lowers cooling effectiveness and may require current reduction. The drive does not include onboard operating software, and firmware must be ordered as a separate subitem so the software package can be matched to the intended application.
