Product Description:
The DDS02.2-W100-BE96-01-FW is a digital drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DDS Drive Controllers series. It regulates three-phase servo motors in automated machinery. The controller translates motion commands from higher-level PLCs into precisely modulated output current for torque and speed control in closed-loop positioning tasks. This makes it suitable for axes that need stable speed regulation and repeatable positioning during continuous production cycles.
This model communicates over the SERCOS interface, so synchronous real-time data exchange is carried through a fiber-optic ring that transmits both drive commands and diagnostic feedback. Thermal management uses internal cabinet air, and the unit pulls ambient panel air across its heat sink without requiring external ducting. Clear airflow inside the enclosure is still necessary so heat can leave the power section efficiently. The power stage is rated for 100 A continuous output, enabling the controller to supply high-torque motors without current derating. Position and velocity data are accepted through digital servo feedback and resolver feedback, allowing one controller type to operate motors equipped with either encoder technology. The unit is in design 02 of the DDS line, and it shares mounting dimensions and connector locations with other members of that revision.
Application firmware is not factory-loaded, and firmware must be ordered as a separate subitem so the required feature set can be selected for the axis. The unit carries Function ID 01, which keeps its identification consistent during network communication. Its release level is marked as revision 2. As a member of the DDS Drive Controllers family, the unit can be connected to a common DC bus with other DDS modules to share regenerative energy in a multi-axis rack. Returned braking energy can then be used by other connected axes when operating conditions allow.
