The DDS02.1-W150-DS11-02 drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the DDS Drive Controllers series. It operates as a digital axis amplifier for AC servo motors, supplying regulated current and voltage so industrial handling modules, printing stations, or assembly robots receive precise motion commands. Installed in a cabinet slot next to companion power supplies, the device links motion control software to the mechanical load and supports closed-loop speed and position regulation. Because it sits between the higher-level controller and the motor, it serves as the power conversion stage that turns electronic commands into controlled motion at the axis.
The controller communicates with the master motion processor through a SERCOS interface, allowing deterministic fiber-optic messaging of command values and diagnostics. Its power stage is rated for up to 150 A of continuous output, so high-torque motors can accelerate rapidly without current foldback. Heat generated by the IGBTs is removed by internal air cooling, with cabinet air drawn across the heat sink instead of through external ducts. An enclosure rating of IP20 protects against finger contact and requires installation in a closed panel. Position and velocity are returned to the drive through digital servo feedback, supporting high-resolution control loops. This feedback arrangement helps the drive correct deviations caused by changing load conditions and keeps the commanded motion profile consistent during operation.
The controller operates at ambient temperatures of 0 to 45 °C. It can be stored between -30 to 85 °C when not powered. Mounting altitude is limited to 1000 m above sea level because reduced air density above that point can lower cooling effectiveness. The drive belongs to Line 02 of the DDS platform, placing it in the second design line of the series.
