The DDS2.1-W100-DS45-00-FW is a digital AC servo drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the DDS Drive Controllers series. Within an industrial motion rack, it conditions bus power, processes encoder data, and modulates three-phase outputs so a connected servo axis follows velocity and position commands issued by the central PLC. The unit fits on a common backplane and shares auxiliary supplies with companion drives, enabling compact multi-axis systems.
This controller operates from a 300 V DC bus and can furnish a continuous output of 60 A. The manufacturer also assigns 60 A to the peak-at-continuous condition when the drive is already loaded. The rated current is 100 A, and that value is also the maximum peak current available during rapid accelerations. A lower 40 A continuous-at-peak rating applies once the module has reached its thermal ceiling. Cooling is provided by internal air cooling, meaning cabinet air passes directly across the heat sink. Feedback from the motor is read through digital servo feedback interfaces to close current and velocity loops with microsecond resolution. Internal electronics consume 500 mA from the logic 24 V rail, while analog circuits draw 150 mA from each ±15 V supply.
The housing carries an IP20 protection rating and must be used inside a metal enclosure. The permissible operating ambient temperature is 0 – 45 °C, while components remain intact between -30 – 85 °C during storage or transport. Installation altitude is restricted to 1000 m before output derating is necessary. Absolute humidity may not exceed 25 g/m³, and relative humidity must stay below 95% to prevent condensation. Brake coils on attached motors receive 24 VDC from the dedicated holding-brake output so vertical axes can stay engaged when the main bus is shut down.
