The DDS drive controllers are one of Bosch Rexroth's contributions to the global drive and motion industry. These drive controllers have a modular design which allows them to be highly flexible with a wide range of applications. They can be flexibly combined with any of the AC servo motors from Bosch Rexroth to create rapid-response drives. Also, when combined with AC servo and main drives, a compact package which uses a single supply unit is created. Their areas of application include machine tools, textile machines, printing and packaging machines, robotics, and handling machines.
Communication between the DDS02.2-W100-BE78-00-FW and other control units is via the SERCOS plugin module. This plugin module provides the inputs used for assessing reference switches, travel range switches, and sensor inputs. It carries out its functions via fibre optic cables that are manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. The drive controller has a compact construction, hence, it can be mounted into a control cabinet with its supply unit in tow. It can function with any Indramat supply unit with a regulated DC 24V voltage. The control cabinet also allows this DDS model to cool via heat technology. In the heat technology method, heat is dissipated within the control cabinet.
The DDS02.2-W100-BE78-00-FW has a rated current of 100A and requires a DC bus voltage of 300V with an allowance of +/-15%.
