Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DDS03.1-W050-DS41-00-FW within the DDS Drive Controllers series. This digital AC servo controller works inside a control cabinet to modulate inverter power stages for a connected motor. It allows precise torque, speed, and position control in production lines, packaging equipment, and material-handling stations where coordinated axis motion is required. It serves as the control element between the cabinet power section and the motor feedback system during closed-loop operation.

The controller can supply up to 50 A of continuous output current, allowing it to drive compatible synchronous or induction motors in sustained operation. Its housing meets IP20, so live parts are protected against accidental finger contact, but the unit still requires installation inside an enclosure for protection from dust and moisture. Reliable operation is permitted from 0 – 45 °C, and the power section is designed to remain within its rated temperature limits across that ambient range. Heat is removed through internal cabinet air cooling, which uses cabinet airflow across the heat sink instead of drawing air directly from outside the panel. Rotor position data is exchanged through digital servo feedback, allowing the controller to maintain closed-loop speed and position regulation during dynamic machine movement.

Field communication is handled by a SERCOS interface, enabling cyclic setpoint, status, and diagnostic exchange on a fiber-optic ring with other drives in the system. This communication method supports synchronized axis control in multi-drive installations. Installation elevations up to 1000 m are permissible before current or cooling derating is required. When the equipment is idle or in transit, the unit tolerates storage temperatures from -30 – 85 °C, helping protect internal components during nonoperating periods. The unit is version 1.
