Product Description:
The DDS02.1-W150-DS63-00-FW drive controller is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DDS Drive Controllers series. It is intended for installation in a multi-axis cabinet, where it converts bus power into regulated three-phase output for servo motors. This allows machine tools, pick-and-place modules, and presses to maintain precise velocity and position control under PLC supervision. By regulating motor power inside the cabinet, it supports coordinated axis motion where repeatable starts, stops, and speed changes are required.
Communication with the higher-level control loop occurs through the SERCOS interface, which transfers setpoints and diagnostics over a fiber-optic ring at deterministic cycle times for synchronized axis updates. The power section is sized for a continuous load of 150 A, so the attached supply module must deliver that motor current without tripping. Thermal energy is removed by internal cabinet air cooling, so sufficient forced ventilation inside the enclosure is required to keep heat sink temperature within limits. Rotor position is returned to the controller through digital servo feedback, allowing closed-loop commutation and rapid correction of position errors. An enclosure rating of IP20 blocks solid objects larger than 12 mm, so the unit must be mounted in a protected cabinet to avoid moisture or conductive dust.
The drive operates reliably between 0–45 °C, allowing full current delivery during normal production use, while storage or transport can take place between -30–85 °C without damage to electronic components. These temperature limits apply to the controller during operation, storage, and transport. Continuous output is specified for sites up to 1000 m above sea level, and operation above that altitude requires current and switching-frequency derating. The product is part of Line 02 in the DDS platform and is version 1.
