As a digital AC servo drive controller, it sits between the motion-control PLC and the servo motor, converting low-level position or velocity commands into precise current and voltage patterns. Within an industrial automation cell, it regulates dynamic axes such as pick-and-place gantries, rotary tables, and material-handling stations, ensuring closed-loop motion while coordinating with adjacent drives over a fiber-optic bus. The design supports modular racks where several drives share a common supply.

The controller communicates with the master via the SERCOS interface, a deterministic fiber-optic network that carries real-time axis commands and parameter data. Position data from the motor is returned through digital servo feedback, allowing the current loop to react within microseconds. Its power stage delivers a continuous output of 25 A, enough to drive mid-frame motors used in handling or packaging machinery.
