The DDS02.2-W050-BE24-01-FW drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the DDS Drive Controllers series. Designed for cabinet mounting alongside compatible supply modules, it converts DC bus energy into three-phase output for AC servo motors. In industrial automation, the unit closes the control loop between CNC or PLC commands and motor response, allowing coordinated, high-accuracy positioning on packaging lines, material handlers, and printing presses. Because it works from a shared DC bus, the controller fits modular drive cabinets where supply and axis modules are installed side by side.

Communication with the higher-level control system occurs over the SERCOS interface, a fiber-optic ring that carries setpoint and diagnostic data with deterministic timing. The power stage supplies a continuous current of 50 A, so axes with substantial dynamic torque demands can be driven without derating during normal operation. Thermal management relies on internal cabinet air cooling, so the heat sinks use the air already circulating inside the enclosure and require adequate cabinet airflow.
