The DDS03.1-W030-RS18-01 digital AC servo drive controller is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. Designed as a plug-in module for rack assemblies in Indramat automation cabinets, the unit converts a stabilized DC bus into a three-phase output that follows velocity or torque commands from the machine control. By closing its internal current loop with motor feedback, it supports accurate motion in pick-and-place systems, gantry axes, and continuous-feed production equipment. This arrangement lets the controller respond quickly to changing load conditions while remaining suited to compact multi-axis cabinet layouts.

It supplies up to 30 A of continuous phase current, allowing medium-frame servo motors to reach rated torque without external amplification. Command and diagnostic data move over the SERCOS interface, providing deterministic timing for coordinated axis control. Thermal management relies on internal cabinet air, so conditioned airflow passes across the heat sink instead of drawing in unfiltered plant air. The controller carries an IP20 protection rating, which helps maintain touch-safe installation inside the cabinet. Installation is permitted up to 1000 m above sea level before derating is required. Because cooling depends on cabinet airflow, the surrounding enclosure should provide a clear path for air movement around the drive.

Full-power operation is permitted at ambient temperatures from 0 to 45 °C, while safe storage and transport are possible from -30 to 85 °C. Position verification uses resolver feedback, which offers strong resistance to electrical noise and mechanical shock in industrial environments. The unit is in hardware revision 1. It is part of Line 03 and uses Function ID Version 01, placing it in the same product generation as compatible power supply and braking modules. This helps the drive fit into DDS-based systems that use standardized rack connections and coordinated control architecture.
