Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DDS02.1-A200-DS32-00 within the DDS Drive Controllers series. This digital AC servo drive controller converts DC bus power into regulated three-phase output so that synchronized motors can deliver precise torque, speed, and position in printing presses, packaging lines, and material-handling stations. By combining closed-loop current regulation with embedded parameter memory, the unit serves as the central power stage in multi-axis machines that use Indramat supply modules and compatible feedback devices.

Communication with the supervisory PLC occurs through the SERCOS interface, allowing fiber-optic rings to transport real-time position and diagnostic data among distributed axes. Heat generated by the power electronics is removed by air from outside the control cabinet, a method that isolates interior components from contaminated airflow while maintaining continuous convection through the heat sink. The power section can supply up to 200 A of RMS output current, enabling high-torque acceleration for large motors without stressing the silicon limits. An enclosure rating of IP20 prevents finger contact with live parts, so the drive must reside in a clean, closed cabinet for splash protection. Rotor position is returned to the controller through digital servo feedback, which supports fine current loops and electronic commutation.

The operating envelope supports ambient temperatures between 0–45 °C, so the cabinet climate must stay within that range during operation. Reliable performance is maintained up to 1000 m above sea level, and thinner air above this altitude can require derating or additional cooling.
