Product Description:
The DDS03.1-W030-DS04-03-FW is a servo drive controller from Bosch Rexroth Indramat, grouped within the DDS Drive Controllers series. The unit forms the power and control interface between a command-level motion system and the electric servo motor it drives. By modulating output current in response to position or velocity commands, it enables precise closed-loop actuation for tasks such as pick-and-place, packaging, and press automation. It integrates into multi-axis racks and supports tight synchronization across coordinated machine axes, making it suitable for medium-power automation cells.
Communication with the supervisory PLC is handled over the SERCOS interface, which provides high-speed fiber-optic messaging and supports synchronized update cycles for every axis on the ring. Rotor position feedback arrives through digital servo feedback; the electronic code disc and data stream eliminate analog drift, allowing fine-grained current loops. Heat produced by the IGBT power stage is removed through internal air cooling, so cabinet air is drawn over the heatsink and the drive depends on enclosure ventilation capacity. During acceleration and load transients, the power section can deliver up to 30 A of continuous output current, giving the connected motor ample torque headroom for mid-range throughput.
This drive belongs to Line 03 and is supplied in Version 1, which places it in the same product generation as other modules in that release. Within the DDS backplane, it is a Digital AC Servo Drive Controller, so it can pair with motors of varied voltage classes while maintaining the same control method. The required control-loop and fieldbus modules are ordered as a separate subitem, allowing the installed feature set to match the application. Optional application-specific motion libraries support indexing, camming, or tension control without external PLC code.
