Product Description:
The DDS03.2-W030-BE45-01-FW is a digital AC servo drive controller from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the DDS Drive Controllers series. In an automation cell, the unit sits between the motion controller and a synchronous motor, modulating three-phase power so commanded speed, torque, and position are followed accurately. This role supports coordinated multi-axis movement in packaging machines, gantry systems, and other equipment that requires deterministic motion. Because control and power conversion occur in the same unit, response to command changes remains fast during normal machine cycles. Its closed-loop operation helps the machine maintain stable performance during acceleration, deceleration, and position holding.
The drive exchanges real-time data with higher-level PLCs over a SERCOS interface, allowing deterministic cyclic set points and diagnostic feedback. It can deliver a continuous phase current of 30 A, so motors in medium power ranges can receive full torque without clipping. Heat from the IGBT stage is removed by internal air cooling, and cabinet air passes across the heat sink without the need for an external blower. The housing has an IP20 rating, which provides finger-safe protection for live parts but still requires installation inside a protected enclosure. Position verification is handled through digital servo feedback from the motor, and an optional resolver channel can be used on older machines or for basic homing tasks.
The unit operates in ambient temperatures from 0-45 °C and can be stored from -30-85 °C when de-energized. Installation is permitted up to 1000 m above sea level before derating is required, which covers most factory locations. During storage, the permitted temperature range supports transport and indoor stock conditions while the controller remains unpowered. The unit is part of Line 03 and Function ID 01, and the hardware is Version 2. The temperature and altitude limits should be considered with cabinet ventilation during installation.
