The DDS02.2-W015-BE41-02-FW is a digital AC servo drive controller built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DDS Drive Controllers series. This unit sits between the motion controller and the servo motor. It regulates current and velocity to execute precise positioning routines on automated machinery. The drive is intended for closed-loop axis operation where repeatable speed and position response are required during continuous production cycles in packaging, handling, and similar equipment.

The controller communicates with upstream PLC hardware over the SERCOS interface, so cyclic setpoints and diagnostic data are exchanged on a fiber-optic ring without additional I/O modules. During operation, it can supply up to 15 A of output current to a matched motor, letting the axis accelerate quickly while staying within the drive’s thermal limits. The housing meets the IP20 protection category, so it requires installation inside a switchgear enclosure but offers finger-safe touch protection for energized circuits. Cooling is achieved by drawing air from inside the cabinet, which avoids pressure loss through external ducts and keeps contamination away from sensitive electronics. For motion feedback, the unit interprets digital servo feedback, enabling high-resolution position control, and it remains stable at elevations up to 1000 m without derating current output.

The alternative feedback channel is resolver feedback, allowing the same drive to support rugged electromagnetic resolvers used on high-temperature or legacy motor systems. Ambient service temperatures can range from 0 – 45 °C, so normal factory heat loads do not require additional cooling measures.
