Product Description:
The DDS02.1-W025-DS40-00 digital AC servo drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the DDS Drive Controllers series. It functions as the regulating element between a supply unit and a synchronous or asynchronous servo motor, supplying controlled three-phase power while exchanging diagnostic data with the plant controller. Within automated assembly lines, packaging machinery, or material-handling axes, the unit closes the torque, speed, and position loops so that commanded motion profiles are carried out accurately and repeatably. This arrangement lets the drive respond quickly to load changes without losing positional accuracy during normal machine cycles. It can therefore support coordinated motion tasks such as indexing, feeding, and synchronized transfer between machine stations.
Communication with the higher-level motion controller is handled through the SERCOS interface, a deterministic fiber-optic network that carries setpoints and status data in real time. Internally, the unit uses air from inside the control cabinet for cooling, which eliminates external fan wiring. During continuous operation, the drive can deliver 25 A of output current, a value used when sizing cables and circuit protection. The housing has an IP20 rating, so the unit is intended for installation inside an enclosure. Encoder data from the attached motor returns through digital servo feedback, allowing the controller to regulate current vectors with high resolution. This feedback path helps the drive correct rotor position and velocity errors during motion.
The drive supports ambient operation from 0 to 45 °C, so cabinet ventilation must keep internal air within that range for reliable current regulation. When the machine is powered down, the electronics can be stored from -30 to 85 °C. Nominal performance is maintained up to 1000 m above sea level, and reduced air density above that altitude can lower heat dissipation. These operating limits apply to cabinet conditions around the controller rather than to open-air installation. The controller is Version 1 and belongs to Line 02.
