Product Description:
The DDS03.2-W030-B is a digital AC servo drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the DDS Drive Controllers series. It operates as the intermediary between a PLC-level command structure and an Indramat synchronous motor. It converts commanded torque or velocity values into regulated three-phase outputs for industrial automation axes. In a closed-loop axis system, the controller regulates motor behavior so commanded motion can be followed with consistent response. This arrangement supports coordinated motion in packaging lines, handling systems, and other automated equipment.
The drive can deliver a continuous output of 30 A of rated current, a level matched to medium-frame servo motors used in material-handling gantries and packaging machinery. Its power section draws energy from a 300 V DC bus, so the connected supply module must maintain that link voltage for proper field-oriented regulation. Thermal management is handled by internal air cooling, and cabinet air passes through the heat sink fins to remove up to 110 W of power loss without external blowers. This cooling method keeps the unit self-contained and supports installation inside enclosed control cabinets. Component exposure is limited by an IP20 protection rating, which excludes finger-sized objects and is suitable for drives mounted behind closed panels. An onboard logic supply generates the ±15 V and +24 V rails that feed encoder transceivers and control electronics.
The environmental envelope supports operation at up to 95% relative humidity when condensation is prevented, and installation altitude is limited to 1000 m to help control semiconductor temperature. Position and velocity loops accept digital servo feedback and resolver feedback, allowing the controller to work with high-resolution encoders as well as resolver-equipped legacy motors. The controller also provides low-voltage support for feedback devices and interface circuits within the axis control chain. That broad feedback support helps when older motor installations remain in service beside newer encoder-based axes. The product is part of Line 03 and Version 2 within the DDS platform.
