The VLT FC 202 AQUA Drives from Danfoss comprise an adjustable frequency drive series developed specifically for water and wastewater applications, with models covered across a power range to 90 kW.
The series controls three-phase asynchronous motors and non-salient permanent magnet motors by converting incoming line power through rectifier, DC bus, and inverter stages to supply variable voltage and frequency at the motor output. For system control, the platform supports both open-loop and closed-loop operation, includes built-in PID functionality, and can be operated locally through the control panel or remotely through analog, digital, and serial communication interfaces. The series also includes application-focused functions such as SmartStart commissioning, a Water and Pumps quick menu, cascade control, dry-run detection, deragging, flow confirmation, pipe fill mode, sleep mode, and motor alternation. In pump and fan duty, the drives are intended to improve process control and reduce energy consumption by matching motor speed to demand, while also incorporating protective and operational features such as overload protection, automatic energy optimization, resonance damping, and temperature-controlled fans.
