Product Description:
Danfoss produces the FC-202P15KT4131X6544 variable frequency drive as part of the VLT FC 202 AQUA Drives series. The unit modulates induction-motor speed in pump and fan applications, matching flow or pressure to process demand in water and wastewater plants. By providing adjustable output frequency from a fixed mains supply, the drive can reduce energy consumption and mechanical stress on connected equipment.
During normal-duty operation, the inverter supplies 15 kW to the motor shaft, which is equivalent to 20 HP of mechanical output. It accepts a 380 to 480 VAC three-phase input and draws 21.5 kVA at full load. The line current is limited to 25 A, while the programmed output current reaches 27 A. A 63 A upstream fuse provides coordinated branch-circuit protection. The conversion efficiency is 0.98, qualifying the drive for the IE2 energy-efficiency class. The series identifier 202 aligns parameter numbering across the VLT AQUA Drive product group.
For dynamic processes, the output frequency can rise to 590 Hz, providing a broad command range for compatible motors and pumps. Thermal limits allow continuous operation at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C, with power dissipation of 392 W under normal-duty conditions. The two galvanically isolated digital outputs handle 40 mA each and switch at frequencies up to 32 kHz, allowing high-speed status signals to be sent to external PLC inputs. Motor terminals support shielded cable runs of up to 150 m or unshielded cable runs of up to 300 m, allowing the drive to be installed in a control room while the connected pumps operate at remote locations. These cable allowances can accommodate distributed water-processing systems in which electrical controls must remain separated from wet wells or other exposed equipment. Appropriate panel airflow is still required to remove the generated heat and maintain the permitted operating temperature.
