The FC-202P37KT2131B9322 is an AC variable-frequency drive built by Danfoss for the VLT FC 202 AQUA Drives series. It serves pump and blower installations in water treatment, irrigation, and desalination plants by converting fixed three-phase mains power into a modulated output that lets motors follow pressure- or flow-based setpoints. This closed-loop speed control lowers energy use and mitigates hydraulic shock, providing a direct way to match equipment throughput to real-time process demand in industrial automation.
The power section accepts a 200–240 VAC three-phase input with a continuous line current of 130 A, while the inverter stage supplies up to 143 A to the motor terminals. A full-load capability of 37 kW is achieved with an electrical efficiency of 0.97, leaving 1,353 W to be removed by the heat sink and cabinet airflow. Two analog inputs, one analog output, and two digital outputs allow connections to transmitters and PLC logic. The digital channels can switch process signals at a frequency of 32 kHz. Power-factor correction maintains a true displacement power factor of at least 0.9, and a 200 A pre-fuse protects the feeder. The drive measures analog signals directly and then generates the requested frequency and voltage, helping the motor maintain stable torque as its load changes.
Within the VLT AQUA Drive product group, this model carries the series identifier 202 and can operate motors with ratings up to 50 HP. The output frequency can be extended to 590 Hz for high-speed impellers and other applications that require operation above standard motor frequencies. The unit can operate at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C without derating when mounted in free air, provided that the required clearances and airflow are maintained. Up to 150 m of shielded motor cable can be routed from the drive, allowing pumps to be installed remotely while keeping reflected-wave voltage within acceptable limits. This cable capacity is useful in water-processing facilities where motors and control cabinets may be separated by tanks, piping, access corridors, or other plant equipment.
