Product Description:
The FC-202P4K0T4134F2896 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss as part of the VLT FC 202 AQUA Drives series. Designed for centrifugal pumps, blowers, and similar variable-torque applications, the device adjusts motor speed to maintain process flow or pressure in automated water treatment and distribution systems. By modulating the fundamental frequency delivered to an induction motor, the unit lets a PLC or analog transducer maintain precise setpoints, reduce energy consumption, and limit mechanical stress during startup and stopping. Its speed control is suitable for applications where demand changes throughout the operating cycle.
The drive receives power from a three-phase power network within the 380–480 VAC range. During operation at 400 V, its continuous apparent power limit is 6.9 kVA. This limit changes to 6.5 kVA when the supply voltage approaches 460 V. Maximum input current is 9.0 A on 380–440 V lines or 7.4 A on 441–480 V lines. Efficiency reaches 0.97, and the drive generates only 124 W of heat at full load, which reduces panel cooling demand. A 20 A prefuse protects upstream conductors and supports coordination with suitable switchgear. These electrical characteristics allow the drive to operate across common industrial supply voltages without requiring a separate voltage conversion stage.
The motor output is rated at 5.0 HP, providing suitable capacity for small and midsize pump skids. The inverter can sustain an output phase current of 10 A on supplies up to 440 V. It supports shielded motor cables up to 150 m long or unshielded cables up to 300 m long, permitting the pump to be installed remotely from the control enclosure. Power, motor, and optional brake leads accept conductors with a maximum cross-sectional area of 4 mm², while disconnect wiring may use conductors up to 6 mm² when required by local electrical codes. The rated ambient temperature limit is 50 °C, allowing full operation in typical equipment rooms without derating. Cable selection must account for shielding, installation distance, current capacity, and applicable wiring requirements.
