Product Description:
The FC-202P5K5T2131Z2412 is a Danfoss variable frequency drive in the VLT FC 202 AQUA Drives series. This product regulates the speed of induction motors so that pumps, blowers, and other water-handling equipment can match process demand. By adjusting motor voltage and frequency, the unit lowers energy consumption and reduces hydraulic transients in municipal and industrial fluid systems. Its variable-speed operation is suitable for systems in which flow or pressure requirements change throughout the operating cycle.
The input section accepts 200–240 VAC three-phase power and draws 22.0 A under nominal conditions. Its inverter stage supplies up to 24.2 A of motor current while maintaining an energy conversion efficiency of 0.96, which helps limit thermal losses. Continuous output is rated at 5.5 kW, corresponding to a mechanical shaft capability of 7.5 HP for a connected pump or blower. The control platform modulates the output at carrier frequencies up to 32 kHz, allowing the switching noise and motor response to be adjusted for the application. The permitted phase imbalance is limited to 3.0%, helping prevent excessive current on any single input line. With 310 W of internal power loss, the cabinet ventilation system must accommodate the resulting steady heat load.
The ambient temperature can reach 50 °C before derating is required, provided that the upstream supply is protected by a 63 A fuse and a 3.5 A thermal relay connected to the control terminals. When dynamic braking is required, the resistance of an external braking resistor must not be lower than 22.5 Ω. A nominal resistance of 28.7 Ω provides the intended level of energy dissipation during braking. The drive is limited to 2 power-ups per minute to reduce inrush stress on the DC link. For electromagnetic compatibility, the drive supports up to 150 m of shielded motor cable. An unshielded motor cable can be as long as 300 m, providing additional placement flexibility in pump rooms and remote control panels.
