Product Description:
The FC-202P18KT4131X8708 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 202 AQUA Drives series. The unit converts fixed-frequency, three-phase mains power into a regulated output waveform so centrifugal pumps, blowers, and other water-handling equipment can run at the speed required by flow or pressure control loops. By matching motor speed to real-time demand, the drive supports energy savings and reduces hydraulic shock in municipal and industrial water treatment systems. It integrates with standard control cabinets and fieldbus networks commonly found in process automation.
The drive is rated for 18.5 kW of continuous mechanical output when connected to an induction motor. It accepts a three-phase input of 380–480 VAC, allowing direct connection to common low-voltage distribution panels. The motor terminals can be commanded over a range of 0–590 Hz, so both constant-torque and high-speed pump operating points are available. Internally, the control electronics synchronize with a line supply of 50/60 Hz with a tolerance of +4%/-6%, maintaining stable regulation despite minor utility deviations. An analog 0/4–20 mA output and six selectable digital inputs provide flexible control options. The drive also offers a du/dt value of 2.442 kV/µs at 36 m, phase-imbalance detection at 3.0%, and an output voltage range equal to 0–100% of the incoming voltage.
The inverter remains fully rated at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C, and it tolerates relative humidity from 5% to 95% without internal condensation. Shielded motor leads may extend up to 150 m from the enclosure, while unshielded cable can extend to 300 m when electromagnetic compatibility permits. Acceleration and deceleration are controlled through a programmable ramp time of 1–3600 seconds, enabling gradual pressure changes that protect pipework from abrupt transitions. A displacement power factor greater than 0.98 minimizes reactive current, helping feeder conductors and upstream breakers remain within their intended operating margins at partial load. These operating limits support installation in water-handling systems with long motor cable routes, changing process demand, and varying ambient conditions.
