Product Description:
The FC-202P18KT6131Z6297 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 202 AQUA Drives series. The unit modulates the speed of pumps and fans in water and wastewater installations. This speed control allows connected equipment to track real-time demand instead of running at a fixed rate, improving energy use and reducing unnecessary mechanical wear.
The inverter supplies up to 18.5 kW of continuous electrical power, which corresponds to a mechanical output of 25 HP. At nominal load, the drive reaches a conversion efficiency of 0.98, reducing heat losses inside control panels. It operates from three-phase power and should be protected with upstream fuses rated no higher than 50 A. One analog output supports 8-bit resolution and is designed for a 500 Ω load, making it suitable for valve or transducer feedback. Two digital outputs can source or sink field signals, while six digital inputs have an impedance of 4 kΩ and accept levels up to 28 V DC. These inputs allow direct connections to float switches or pressure contacts without intermediary relays.
The drive maintains full current at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C; operation above this temperature requires derating. The output carrier frequency can be programmed as high as 32 kHz to reduce audible motor noise in noise-sensitive areas. It can be installed at altitudes up to 1000 m without a reduction in torque, and its short-circuit withstand rating of 100,000 A rms supports use on feeders protected by high-capacity circuit breakers. For long motor runs, shielded cables can extend up to 150 m, while unshielded conductors can extend up to 300 m and maintain electromagnetic compatibility. The available proportional and status signals allow supervisory PLCs to monitor flow profiles while the internal logic controls ramping and pump alternation.
