Product Description:
The FC-202P30KT4131B9034 is an AC variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 202 AQUA Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency utility power into a pulse-width-modulated output for controlling pump and fan motors. This adjustable output lets automation systems regulate motor speed in real time, keeping flow and pressure at their setpoints while lowering energy use and reducing water hammer.
This model delivers continuous shaft power of 30 kW, which corresponds to 40 HP. It accepts a mains input ranging from 380 to 480 VAC. Operation with three-phase power allows direct connection to typical industrial feeders, while a switching frequency of up to 32 kHz supports quiet motor operation. The analog output can drive loads down to 500 Ω for external meters, and the digital outputs can transmit operating status to PLCs. Dynamic stopping is handled by a braking network with a minimum resistor value of 20.3 Ω, a nominal resistor value of 27.2 Ω, and an absorption capacity of 8.0 kW. A 19 A thermal relay monitors the braking resistor temperature. A gG-63 fuse is recommended to protect the input bus against excessive current. Motor-cable voltage transients remain within a peak of 1.0 kV over a 15 m test length, helping protect motor insulation from excessive electrical stress. The corresponding voltage rise time is 0.271 µs, which is compatible with applicable NEMA insulation limits.
The drive supports continuous operation at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C. It can be installed at elevations up to 1000 m without derating, allowing full output under the stated altitude limit. For installations that require longer motor leads, the drive can control a shielded motor cable measuring up to 150 m. Its insulated-gate output has a voltage rise rate of 3.100 kV/µs, reducing electrical stress on the motor winding insulation. Output filters may be used when cable length, peak voltage, or rise time requires additional motor protection in municipal water, irrigation, or desalination systems.
