Product Description:
The FC-202P15KT4131X9281 is an AC variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 202 AQUA Drives series. As a dedicated pump and fan controller, the unit converts fixed-frequency mains power into a regulated output that matches current process demand, improving energy use in water-supply and wastewater installations. Within a control system, it receives run commands from a PLC, modulates motor speed, and protects connected equipment against overcurrent and thermal stress. Its variable-speed operation allows pump output to follow changes in flow or pressure without relying entirely on mechanical throttling.
This model delivers a shaft output of 20 HP, which corresponds to a mechanical power rating of 15 kW. Its electrical efficiency is 0.98, reducing heat generation at nominal load and supporting the IE2 efficiency classification. When supplied from 441–480 V mains, the inverter draws a continuous input current of 25 A and supplies 27 A to the motor. It can momentarily increase its output current to 29.7 A during acceleration or other transient loads. The drive accepts 380–480 VAC three-phase power, and upstream protection supports 63 A Type C or gG fuses. An integral DC-link choke helps maintain phase balance and reduce harmonic distortion on the incoming supply. The control algorithms regulate the output waveform as operating demand changes, allowing the connected motor to maintain stable speed and torque across the intended load range.
The drive supports full-load startup at an ambient temperature of 0 °C and continuous operation at up to 50 °C without derating. Installation is permitted at altitudes up to 1000 m without output-current reduction; above that elevation, the current is derated linearly to a maximum installation altitude of 3000 m. Shielded motor cables may extend to 150 m, while unshielded cables may reach 300 m, providing flexibility when the motor is located away from the control cabinet. Output filtering helps limit reflected-wave stress on the motor insulation when long cable runs are required. The unit is compatible only with three-phase utility systems, so it cannot operate from a single-phase supply. Enclosure ventilation must account for heat dissipation, installation altitude, and motor-cable routing inside treatment-plant control rooms.
