Product Description:
The FC-202P15KT2131X9096 is a variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 202 AQUA Drives series. Classified within the VLT AQUA Drive product group, the unit modulates motor speed for pumps, blowers, and other water-handling equipment so that flow is controlled electrically rather than by mechanical throttling. Installed between the 200–240 V mains and a three-phase induction motor, it provides torque regulation, integrated I/O, and the braking capability required in automated filtration and distribution systems. This arrangement allows the drive to adjust motor operation in response to changing process demands while supporting common water-management applications.
Continuous output is capped at 15 kW, and the input converter accepts a supply range of 200–240 VAC wired for three-phase power. Excess kinetic energy is dissipated through an internal brake channel rated at 1.130 kW; external resistors must have a resistance of at least 8.7 Ω, with 10.2 Ω preferred for repetitive stops. One analog output can drive loads down to 500 Ω for speed, flow, or pressure feedback. Two digital outputs source up to 40 mA each and can switch process signals at frequencies up to 32 kHz. The digital inputs withstand 28 V DC and have an impedance of 4 kΩ for sensor compatibility. These analog and digital connections support integration with PLCs and external process instruments. The electronics maintain full current at temperatures up to 50 °C when installed in a suitably ventilated enclosure.
The drive can operate at altitudes up to 1000 m without derating, and operation can extend to 3000 m with a proportional power reduction. The inverter can drive motors up to 20 HP and supports shielded motor leads as long as 150 m; unshielded leads can extend to 300 m while keeping carrier-frequency noise within acceptable limits. Brake control logic supervises the external resistor to shorten deceleration times and manage energy returned by the motor. The available output signals provide process feedback for flow, speed, or pressure monitoring without requiring a separate signal converter.
