The Kollmorgen S700 Servo Drives are a family of digital servo amplifiers built for single-axis motion control with an onboard position controller and support for a wide range of motor types, including synchronous servomotors, linear motors, induction motors, and DC motors.
They cover broad mains options—ranging from single-phase 110/230 VAC up through three-phase 208–480 VAC—with an integrated rectifier, supply filtering, and soft-start circuitry. For machine integration, the platform includes CANopen and EtherCAT onboard, plus RS232 and a 24 V pulse/direction interface, and it supports multiple feedback technologies such as resolver and several encoder formats (including single-cable feedback options). The series is designed for system safety with Safe Torque Off (STO) built in, supporting higher functional-safety performance levels when wired in appropriate single- or dual-channel architectures. It also provides modular expandability via front-mounted option slots, a memory card slot for service/commissioning support, and a DC bus link/braking concept that can share regenerative energy and braking power across drives in a common bus arrangement.
