The Kollmorgen S7720F-FBF2-S3 is a digital servo amplifier that is built as a safety component into an electrical machine. It is perfect for complex drive tasks. The unit is equipped with the FB-2to1 extension card in the first slot. This card enables simultaneous connection of digital primary and analog secondary feedback to connector X1. A three-phase earthed industrial supply network can be used to supply this device. It should be noted that the rated voltage of the motor should be at least as high as the servo amplifier’s DC bus link voltage divided by 2. Shocks should be avoided during the transit of the device.

The S700 digital servo amplifier contains electrostatically sensitive components, which can be damaged when handled incorrectly. If the unit is stored for over a year, its capacitors must be re-formed prior to setting up and operating. This can be done by removing all electrical connections and applying one-phase 230V AC for nearly 30 minutes to the L1 and L2 terminals. It should be noted that the mating SubD connectors are not available in the product package. If needed, it must be ordered separately. The amplifier can be programmed via the RS232 interface.

The S700 digital servo amplifier has an integrated 24V step/direction interface to connect the servomotor to the stepper controller. The Emergency Stop function of the device is used to shut down the machine quickly in a risky situation. The function is defined by IEC 60204. The product has a two-channel STO for functional safety. Very little wiring is required due to the STO. The rated current of the product is 72 Arms. The unit has a nameplate for identification.
