The S74802-NAF2-NA is an S700 servo drive produced by Kollmorgen. It acts as a closed-loop power amplifier for servo motors, converting three-phase mains energy into finely modulated pulses that command torque, speed, or position in automated cells, conveyor lines, and processing stations. By integrating command processing, power electronics, and safety functions into one housing, the unit helps simplify control cabinet layout.

Rated for a supply of 208 to 480 V, the drive draws a continuous phase current of 48 Arms and can pass up to 35 kVA through its input bridge. The output current form factor of 1.01 indicates that RMS and average currents are nearly equal, which helps limit additional copper loss in the connected motor. With a gating frequency of 8 kHz, the drive produces fine-grained voltage steps while maintaining acceptable switching losses. The drive uses standard PCBs, and a dedicated fan-controller expansion card manages airflow when internal sensors request cooling. The metal housing is 244 mm deep at the body and reaches 285 mm with the terminal cover installed, while the body height is 386 mm and rises to 505 mm once connectors are fitted. A residual output drop of 6 V helps maintain torque production by delivering near-bus voltage to the motor phases.

During transients, the output stage can supply up to 96 Arms, giving the drive added headroom for acceleration and short impact loads. Safe torque off is implemented as dual-channel STO, so both the drive and an external safety controller can remove energy from the motor windings. When the cooling fans are disabled, the internal electronics dissipate only 24 W, which simplifies cabinet ventilation calculations. The enclosure width of 190 mm allows the 13 kg unit to fit beside other S700 modules on standard DIN rail shelves without overcrowding. The narrow front width also leaves room for adjacent wiring ducts and airflow paths inside the enclosure.
