The S74802-FBF2-S4 is a Kollmorgen servo drive in the S700 Servo Drives series. It converts mains power into regulated three-phase output so that synchronous or asynchronous motors track commanded torque, speed, and position profiles inside packaging lines, assembly gantries, and other automated stations. Kollmorgen equips this model for cabinet installation where its control section interfaces with motion controllers through digital encoder links, while the power stage manages the motor’s mechanical response.

The drive is rated for a continuous output of 48 Arms, and it can deliver up to 96 Arms for no more than 5 seconds when rapid acceleration is needed. A wide input window of 208–480 V lets the same unit serve both 240 V and 480 V plant grids. Current is switched at 8 kHz, a frequency that balances acoustic performance with transistor losses. The integral fan starts at 65 °C to keep the internal temperature within acceptable limits, and overall noise stays below 62 dB(A) at full load. The housing measures 386 mm in height, 190 mm in width, and 244 mm in depth, all measured without connectors. The drive uses standard PCBs as the option configuration, and the output stage has a residual voltage drop of 6 V across the IGBT bridge. Primary feedback ports accept EnDat 2.2, BiSS, or SSI signals, making the unit compatible with a broad range of motor encoders.

The drive includes built-in safety and auxiliary functions for shutdown and feedback support. Safe torque off is provided by dual-channel STO, which removes drive-side torque within microseconds. A dedicated expansion card governs the cooling fan and monitors airflow, while the secondary encoder port supplies 5 V DC at up to 300 mA for SinCos (1 V p-p) feedback devices. The enclosure weighs 13 kg, which supports panel mounting while remaining suitable for the vibration common in industrial machinery.
