Product Description:

The S70602-NANANA-NA-024 is a member of the S700 series servo drives that is produced by Kollmorgen. It can be used with many types of motors including servo, linear and DC motor. The drive provides fieldbus Integration through PROFIBUS DPV1 communication and meets the IEC and ISO benchmark.

The S70602-NANANA-NA-024 servo drive requires voltage between 208-480 VAC and its operational frequency ranges from 50 to 60 Hz. It has a power rating of 4.5 kVA and 6 A of nominal current capacity while provides a peak output current of 18 A for momentary durations only. The S70602 servo drive’s design ensures operation in temperature conditions which do not exceed 40° C and it meets an IP20 protection standard rating that limits its function to cabinet-based systems. It contains safety measures of short circuit, overload and overvoltage to enhance safety as well as reliability of the whole system. The S70602 drive incorporates a fan for protection from overheating and can work at the altitude up to 1000 m without affecting the unit power output while any altitude more than 1000 m causes the deferment of 1.5% in the output. It is a vertical mount type and needs an adequately ventilated control cabinet. There is no expansion card installed in any of the three available slots.

The S70602-NANANA-NA-024 servo drive has switching frequency of the output stage greater than 12 kHz and the rise time of voltage is 3.3 kV/μs. A power source of 24 VDC as auxiliary source is used in the device and the brake circuit gives a protection for thermal overload up to 1.38 kW for a duration of 1 second while trips at overvoltage limit of 455 V. The S70602 drive enables remote monitoring through Ethernet while also providing IP-based accessibility.

Frequently Asked Questions about S70602-NANANA-NA-024:

Q: What is the advantage of having a switching frequency above 12 kHz?

A: It minimizes torque ripple and allows for smoother motor control, especially useful in sensitive automation systems.

Q: Why are there separate connectors like X1 and X2 for feedback in S70602-NANANA-NA-024?

A: X1 and X2 support distinct feedback types such as resolver and encoder, enabling compatibility with various motor configurations and control strategies.

Q: What role does the 24 VDC auxiliary supply play in the S70602-NANANA-NA-024?

A: It powers the control logic independently of the main power, ensuring configuration and diagnostics can continue even during power loss.

Q: What is the function of the dual STO system in S70602-NANANA-NA-024?

A: Dual STO provides redundant safety circuits, ensuring compliance with safety standards and reducing risks during emergency stops.

Q: How does the thermal overload brake circuit protect the drive?

A: It absorbs excess energy up to 1.38 kW for one second, preventing overheating during short bursts of regenerative braking.
