The S7720A-PNF2-F2 is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen and assigned to the S700 Servo Drives series. It delivers closed-loop control for industrial motion axes, interfacing with drive-mounted feedback and PLC networks. Cabinet space is preserved through a width of 190 mm, a depth of 244 mm, and a height of 386 mm, so multiple drives can be arrayed side by side. Mechanical integration is aided by a coldplate base and coated PCBs that tolerate conductive cooling and airborne contaminants. An optional fan controller expansion card is available to supervise external blowers and maintain consistent internal temperatures.

The drive accepts a three-phase supply between 208 to 480 V and can handle up to 50 kVA of input power. Under continuous load, the inverter supplies 72 Arms, while brief acceleration peaks reach 140 Arms without derating. The switching frequency is 8 kHz, and the resulting output current form factor of 1.01 keeps motor heating predictable. A minimum motor inductance of 0.61 mH is required at 480 V to avoid overcurrent trips, and the residual voltage drop across the output bridge is 6 V. When cabinet temperature climbs to 65 °C, the onboard controller energizes the fan channel; once cooled, thermal dissipation in idle mode falls to 24 W. The drive may be energized or de-energized up to 30 times per hour without harming semiconductors.

During full-speed operation at 480 V, the power section releases 1135 W of heat, a value used in panel airflow calculations. Acoustic output remains below 68 dB(A), permitting installation in occupied production areas. The enclosure weighs 13 kg, which helps when the unit is mounted in a control cabinet. Safety is enhanced with dual-channel STO, allowing independent de-energization of both torque paths to meet stop-category requirements.
