The S74802-PNF2-PM servo drive is built by Kollmorgen for the S700 Servo Drives series. It converts three-phase line power into regulated, high-bandwidth motor currents so automated machinery can run repeatable speed, torque, and position profiles. The unit mounts inside control cabinets and links directly to Ethernet-based controllers, providing the amplification and protection needed for coordinated multi-axis motion in packaging, material handling, and robotics. As a member of this range it shares identical firmware structures and diagnostic tools, simplifying commissioning across an installation.

It operates from a three-phase supply of 208...480 V and delivers a continuous output of 48 Arms while maintaining an output current form factor of 1.01 to minimize harmonic stress on cabling. The IGBT bridge is switched at an output stage carrier of 8 kHz, and peak bursts are allowed for 5 s before thermal rollback. When heat-sink temperature reaches 65 °C, an embedded sensor starts the expansion card fan controller that is fitted in the drive. Communication toward the PLC uses a 100BaseTX physical layer, and the integrated switch exposes two RJ45 connectors so drives can be daisy-chained. Deterministic cyclic data exchange is handled through PROFINET RT. Standard PCBs and a residual DC-link drop of 6 V complete the profile.

For dynamic events the drive can supply 96 Arms, drawing up to 35 kVA from the mains. The position input accepts quadrature or single-ended signals up to 1.5 MHz at a 5 V logic level for direct encoder connection. Local peripherals are handled by 4 digital inputs, 2 bidirectional I/O channels, and a slave fanout of 16 nodes. Functional safety uses a Dual channel STO circuit that removes gate drive energy in less than a millisecond. These resources cut controller count, shorten wiring, and keep motion within current safety standards.
